Program Faculty
Tracie Brace (Padma Shakti), E-RYT 500 Director of Yoga Studies |
 |
Tracie (Padma Shakti) is the founder and Yoga Studies Director for Yoga Rasa. Her ability to effectively disseminate the yoga teachings, leading students toward a more excellent quality of life and more subtle awareness and understanding in life, is made possible by her study and love of these great beings: Dr. David Hoch, Lex Gillian, Reverend Karen Tudor, Sandra Summerfield-Kozak, Rodney Yee, Erich Schiffmann, Shiva Rea, David Frawley and Swami Atma. There are many other masters and teachers unnamed to pay homage to as well, whether by lineage living now or before. Her current studies are influenced mostly by Rod Stryker, Shiva Rea, Dr. Stephen Phillips (Swamiji), Reverend Richard Rogers, Yoga Rasa Kula, Intuition and God. |
| Dr. Stephen Phillips, Ph.D. |
 |
Stephen Phillips is Professor of Philosophy and Asian Studies at the University of Texas at Austin, specializing in Sanskrit and classical Indian philosophies. He has lived six years in India, several in Pondicherry at the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, where he attended the Sri Aurobindo International Centre for Education in 1972 and 1973 and taught 1977-78. He received a PhD from Harvard University in 1982, and moved to Austin that year. He has authored four books and numerous papers, and is best known for his translations. His current project is a book on yoga, to be titled YOGA, KARMA, AND REBIRTH, which will include as appendices several yogic texts, including a new translation of the YOGASUTRA as well as passages from the UPANISHADS, BHAGAVAD GITA, and selected Tantric texts. |
Liz Antognoli (Shanti Tarini), RYT 500 & E-RYT 200 Assistant Director of Yoga Studies |
 |
Liz is a student of Tracie, serves as the Assistant Director of Yoga Studies at Yoga Rasa, is a certified Ayurvedic Health Educator through the American Institute of Vedic Studies, and founded the global Yoga Student Association. “A synthesis of science and spirituality” is how Liz describes her teaching and practice style. Before making yoga her full-time endeavor, Liz worked at NASA’s Mission Control for nine years and has spent many years studying physics and the scientific approach to life. Like yin and yang, scientific study naturally complements the teachings of yoga and Ayurveda. Both Eastern spirituality and Western science seek to discover and explain the nature of the world, and the ultimate Truth. |
 |
Paul received his doctorate degree (DC) from Texas Chiropractic College in 2007. He is currently enrolled and will soon complete the Yoga Rasa teacher training certification program. Concerning health, Paul’s main interest is in how the mind and consciousness influence health. He has also come to understand that while healthy living can easily be turned into a complex science, the human race and others have been doing a pretty good job of it for a very long time. Using cravings, sensory input and instincts, the body will preserve itself in the most ingenious ways given only the most basic tools, and will thrive given optimum opportunities. Knowing that stress is the number one key factor in disease, making healthy living simple only makes sense. From this point of view, using factual information as guideposts, his basic philosophy is formed. |
What Others Have to Say
"I never thought I could be a yoga teacher, but I have learned that to teach is to truly understand."
"What an awesome faculty, you are yoga, you live yoga and I could not imagine a more comprehensive program! Thank you so much for what I have learned...for what I have received, my mind, body and spirit I have no words."
